Review of "Suryia & Roscoe: The True Story of an Unlikely Friendship," by Bhagavan Antle and Thea Feldman

Review of
Suryia & Roscoe: The True Story of an Unlikely Friendship, by Bhagavan Antle and Thea Feldman ISBN 9780805093162

Four out of five stars
Stories about unusual friendships between different animal species always warm the heart, even when the visual evidence is manufactured. The photos in this book are all clearly staged,  yet that does not eliminate their cuteness factor. It is noted on the DJ that Antle is one of the foremost animal trainers in the world, so that is certainly significant.
The setting is a wildlife preserve in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina where the animals are allowed to live lives of comfort and peace. The official name is T. I. G. E. R. S. (The Institute for Greatly Endangered and Rare Species) and it was founded by Antle in order to provide support for endangered species.
This book contains several very attractive photos of Suryia and Roscoe and the text is written at the level of the second grader. It is a nice children’s story for bedtime or other winding down the child activities.
