Review of "The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century 1969," by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill

Review of
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: Century 1969, by Alan Moore and Kevin O’Neill ISBN 9780861661626

One out of five stars
This story takes place in London, England in the late sixties where there are drugs and crime, both of which are largely controlled by gangster bosses. The action is hard, some of the locations dank, dirty and unhealthy in many ways. The story is also hard to follow, there is some kind of evil spirit that is gross and trying to take power within a human body.
There is violence, harsh textual content within the signs of peace and love typical of the sixties. There is occasional nudity that often does not seem to have a useful purpose. When I completed the book, I was unsure as to what the message was meant to be. Perhaps that was the point, to end on an incredible downer of a song about the brutality of prostitution.
