Review of "Science With Plants," by Helen Odom

Review of
Science With Plants, by Helen Odom, ISBN 9780794514853

Five out of five stars
This book contains some very educational, yet simple science projects that can be understood and appreciated by young children. All that is needed to conduct the experiments are some inexpensive seeds and bulbs, water, containers and a bit of dirt. Some of the dirt should be from the floor of a forest so that the simple task of using water to separate out the light organic matter can be performed.
Many of the roles of plants in the ecosystem are examined as well, this is one of the most efficiently dense science books that has ever been written. An entire month could be spent in working through these exercises, many of which can be run concurrently, and all done in 24 pages.
