Review of "Absolute Superman for Tomorrow," by Brian Azzarello and Jim Lee

Review of

Absolute Superman for Tomorrow, by Brian Azzarello and Jim Lee, ISBN 9781848562110

Five out of five stars

Superman stories that are the world’s finest

This book is the very modern Superman, a being capable of extraordinary physical feats, yet emotionally vulnerable with a sex life. There are many supporting characters, from his wife to fellow superheroes to powerful enemies. Superman intervenes to stop a war, only to discover that he is not appreciated for this deed. The best interaction is the one with the priest that has a serious case of cancer.

The artwork is superb, the dialog and relationships with friends, foes and the neutrals are complex and the reactions to the deeds of Superman are complex and not always predictable This is a great graphic novel.
