Review of "The World’s Wackiest Sports Stories," by Michael J. Pellowski

Review of

The World’s Wackiest Sports Stories, by Michael J. Pellowski ISBN 0874063701

Four out of five stars

This is an item of reading material ideally suited for the sports fan that wants something at hand for those situations where you need to occupy your mind for a short time. Each of the stories is very short, all are about a page and that includes a cartoon-style illustration.
Most major and some minor sports such as softball and soccer and odd events such as sprinter Jesse Owens racing against a horse are covered. Many of them are events that are included in blooper reels, such as golf aces made by the ball bouncing off of odd objects, including someone’s head.
There is nothing deep in this book, it is the kind of material that you read, smile over and then ask the person next to you, “Did you know that .... ?”
