Review of
Instaread Infographic of White Trash by Nancy Isenberg
Four out of five stars
Using simple
images with associated snippets of text, this infographic is a reasonable
summary of the book. The fundamental point of the book is that class distinctions
have been prevalent in the United States since before the country was founded
and it was more often based on economic class rather than race. Hence the use
of the term “white trash.”
While it can be
considered a “Cliff’s Notes” version of a “Cliff’s Notes” version, this short
infographic does give you the fundamental theme of a book that states some
fundamental differences from the idealistic statements of the level of
opportunity inherent in the American culture.
