This picture
book adaptation of the movie that was produced for children has the same
quality of imagery as the movie. It is colorful and will catch the eye of the young
child. The story is also one that will help ameliorate the fears that young children
have regarding monsters under the bed or in the closet. In this case the
monsters are quite cuddly and friendly, not the kind that want to harm
children. Since this is such a common fear, anything that can be done to lesson
that fear is to be commended.
A simple book
that has no scary parts, it is one that I would have read to my daughter when
she was young.
