Review of "Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew No. 10: Where Walks the Wuz-Wolf!," by DC comics

Review of
Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew No. 10: Where Walks the Wuz-Wolf!, by DC comics

Four out of five stars
This comic has zany characters, is packed with silly puns and is a parody of nursery tales and the superhero genre of comics. The main character is of course Captain Carrot, a rabbit that must eat a carrot each day in order to recharge his superpowers. The members of his team of sidekick heroes with powers are Pig-Iron, Yankee Poodle, Rubberduck, Kat-Abra and Fastback. Yankee Poodle and Kat-Abra are female and very busty.
The town is Follywood and humans are but an urban myth as this group of heroes battles Wuz-Wolf, a wolf that is somehow transformed into an extremely powerful human form and is very similar to the Marvel character “The Hulk.” It takes all of the combined powers of Captain Carrot and his group to stave off the Wuz-Wolf and the main story ends with the now fleshy Pig-Iron about to go into the oven and be a tasty meal for Wuz-Wolf.
The path from start to end is constructed from a series of scenes reminiscent of most comic book superhero battles, only with dialog that is amusing and at times at the adult level. This comic is a fun read, but with very little depth.
