 While the content is scientifically accurate, young children might be unsettled by the descriptions of Lawrence the Praying Mantis stalking and eating insects. The text is that of early elementary school, so children will be able to read it themselves and the close-up images are literally BEMs (Bug-eyed monsters.)

 If your child can handle this kind of content, then it is a good book. However, some parental discretion is advised, as my daughter would likely not have been able to handle it.
