Instaread summary of Hooked How to Build Habit-Forming Products by Nir Eyal with Ryan Hoover

Five out of five stars

As a former software developer that worked on a product built from the start that we hoped would be a big seller, we were not so conceited to consider it a potential “killer app,” I can relate to the hopes and dreams of people making an application from scratch. For an app to be successful it has to have a strong attachment that pulls people back, this can be a greater force for success than the utility it provides.
I found this summary to be very accurate in encapsulating how developers feel and struggle to hit the sweet spot in attractiveness so that the app is used to the point of being a habit. The explanations of what a habit is and how you create one, literally manufacturing the demand for your app, are understandable and actionable.
If you are on a quest for developing an app that people feel compelled to (re)use and are willing to accept advice and are actively looking for it, with this summary you have found the link that will satisfy that quest.
