This book is a basic primer on how fossils are created
and how they are found and extracted. Since most children have a natural affinity
for dinosaurs and other prehistoric creatures, it is a science book that is fun
to read. There are sections on the types of knowledge that can be gleaned from
fossils, the different historical periods from which we have fossils, to the
more modern remains that are preserved rather than true fossils.
Written at the
level of the late elementary school child, this is a book that is a worthy
addition to all public and private libraries.
