Five out of five stars
The cartoons in
this collection are adult in the sense of life experience being needed to
understand them rather than a great deal of sexual innuendo. General events in
life that most people encounter are presented in an incongruous manner, it is
the differences from the norm that create the humorous aspects.
One of my
favorites has a woman cleaning a closet and telling her husband, “Sam, why don’t
you get rid of these things? You never use them.” The thing is a barbell with a
lot of weight on it and she is picking it up with her heavily muscled left arm.
This also demonstrates that many times it is necessary to consider the cartoon
in detail before you can spot the humor.
Packed with
simple joys, this is a book that will give you some chuckles with a cerebral
origin.
