Review of Instaread Summary of "The Obesity Code Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss" by Jason Fung

Review of

Instaread Summary of The Obesity Code Unlocking the Secrets of Weight Loss by Jason Fung

Five out of five stars

The book by Fung is very important for it empasizes something that simply does not get enough attention in a world bombarded by people making money promising quick and permanent weight loss. What has emerged as a consequence of the latest science and decades of experience is that obesity is a far more complex condition than has been the standard belief. A strategy that worked for one type of person does not necessarily work for others and can even be counterproductive. This is a point that needs to be hammered hard over and over again, testimonials regarding weight loss may be legitimate, but inapplicable.
There is one aspect of weight problems that is consistent across nearly all bodies and that is the role of processed flour and sugar in modern diets. Our bodies have evolved to react in specific ways to the foods we consumed hundreds of thousands of years ago and these two items baffle our metabolic feedback processes. That is another point of emphasis in this summary.
The human body is an extremely complex entity and no common malfunction can be easily explained or solved. Fung makes that clear regarding obesity and this summary demonstrates the main points. recent scientific results are used as justification and there are 18 references, some scientific papers, at the end.
