Review of Instaread Summary of "Why Diets Make Us Fat The Unintended Consequences of Our Obsession with Weight Loss— And What to Do Instead" by Sandra Aamodt

Review of

Instaread Summary of Why Diets Make Us Fat The Unintended Consequences of Our Obsession with Weight Loss— And What to Do Instead by Sandra Aamodt

Two out of five stars

There is an appropriate acronym for this book, YAWLB (Yet Another Weight Loss Book). Diet and other weight loss books come and go, new diets rise and fall and yet the overall obesity level of the public continues to rise. There is no reason to believe that this book will change that.
What appears in this summary is a set of the high points regarding the modern popular approaches to battling weight problems. The content includes an explanation of why some people struggle with their weight, some of the more realistic ways to lose weight in a healthy manner and some that simply says, “Give up on it and accept the fact that you are heavy.”
All of these principles are commonly encountered on the daytime television shows, yet you could take the messages from the shows ten years ago and compare them to what is in this book and nothing has really changed. This summary and the book it describes is just a repeat of what has been said many times and in many ways.

This book was made available for free for review purposes.
