Review of Instaread Summary of "How to Win Friends and Influence People," by Dale Carnegie

Review of

Instaread Summary of How to Win Friends and Influence People, by Dale Carnegie

Five out of five stars

In many ways, no one has ever improved on the book being described by this summary. The only update necessary is for the technological improvements, but in the old fashioned communication medium of face-to-face, it remains the gold standard.
This summary is an excellent encapsulation of this classic book. The tactics are to be non-confrontational, use we a lot and open with small talk that demonstrates an interest in the person. Ask about how their life is going, remember their names and acknowledge their accomplishments.
The book itself is such a sound work that it is one of the very few self-help books that remains useful and appropriate, even after over seventy years. This is in an area where the active shelf life rarely exceeds a year. While it may be dated in a few minor areas, the original is still worth reading if you want to manage people. This summary should convince you that it is worth reading and rereading.
