Review of
Instaread Summary of The Allergy Solution The Surprising, Hidden Truth Behind Why You Are
Sick and How to Get Well by Leo Galland, MD and Jonathan Galland, JD
Four out of five stars
There is no
question that the percentage of people that have been diagnosed as having an
allergy has dramatically risen in the past few decades. There are only two
possible explanations for this, the first is that the rate of allergy sufferers
has gone up and the second is that the rate of being diagnosed as having an
allergy has gone up. The answer is no doubt a combination of both.
The book being
summarized is a combination of an explanation of what an allergic reaction is
as well as a set of reasonable steps one can take to alleviate the problem.
While the technical details of an allergic reaction are mentioned, the emphasis
in the summary is on what the sufferer can do short of medical treatments.
The tactics
described for self-treatment are generally simple and obvious. When allergic
reactions appear, remove all likely causes from your diet long enough to purge
and then reintroduce them one at a time. Other treatments are to regularly
consume probiotic foods such as yogurt and other fermented foods in order to
restore your gut flora to a healthier situation. Processed foods are considered
to be counterproductive and should be avoided. Practicing stress reduction
techniques such as meditation and yoga are also encouraged.
From this
summary, it is clear that there is really nothing new in this book. Nearly
everything has been stated in other publications and on daytime television
shows. In this case, the repetition can be either reinforcing or redundant.
After reading the summary you will know exactly which it is.
