Review of "The Sixth Mad Case Book on Spy vs. Spy," by Prohias

Review of
The Sixth Mad Case Book on Spy vs. Spy, by Prohias ISBN 0446358037

Five out of five stars
This book continues the spoof of the very serious and sometimes deadly game of superpower espionage during the Cold War. Agents from the United States and her allies traveled the world in attempts to gain advantage while comparable agents from the Soviet Union and her allies did the same, only in the reverse direction.
The two characters are generally identical in appearance, yet one is clothed in a black garb while the other’s is white. They engage in a Three Stooge’s like punch and counterpunch series of actions that eventually ends in one of them being hurt. The story is told in a series of images where it appears that one has the advantage, only to have a final caption where the situation is actually reversed.
Told only with images and textual sound effects, these stories are amusing, a light within the dark circles of espionage.
