Review of
Instaread Visual Summary of The Anatomy of Peace, by the Arbinger Institute
Four out of five stars
First off, the
book being summarized is about personal peace and not peace between nations.
Although humans are complex creatures, this subject matter is simpler than the
relationships and difficulties between nations that lead to war.
Within that
context, the sixteen simple bullet points in this summary are an accurate
reflection of this book as well as many others in the self-help category. This
is demonstrated in the first point on page three:
“Conflict results when a heart is at war.”
The one on page five is another well-known adage
restated.
“Those in conflict often collude to increase tensions.”
Another
important point of personal improvement appears on page 17.
“True compassion does not make a person weak – it creates
a base for strength.”
Even though the
content is not original or even unique to the book, this summary gives you the
essence of the contents, so in that area it is a success.
