Review of
Bogart’s
Face,
a Stanyan book
Four out of five stars
This is a very
simple book, one that fans of Humphrey Bogart will enjoy and others will
generally ignore. It is a collection of images of his face taken from stills of
his roles in movies. Given the characters that he played, nearly all depict the
serious visage of a tough guy.
Bogart’s face
has been described as a statue that only now and then came alive. Rather harsh,
yet from the pictures in this book, one can see why that would be said.
