Review of "Motor Crush Volume 1," by Brenden Fletcher et. al.

Review of
Motor Crush Volume 1, by Brenden Fletcher et. al. ISBN 9781534301894

Five out of five stars
Domino is a young woman that is one tough cookie on a motorcycle and she demonstrates it day and night. During the day she runs in sanctioned World Grand Prix races and at night she is a participant in the illegal and brutal street race known as the Cannonball, where there are no rules regarding the treatment of the others. Weapons are used against the other racers and Domino’s favorite is a board with long spikes protruding from the end. The reward for winning the evening races is an engine-boosting substance known as Crush.
This story sets the stage for what is to come in future installments, it is a combination of limited revelation regarding Domino’s past as well as her and the people she is close to being forced to deal with a brutal present. Domino has a man in her life that has filled the father role, yet his position is not based on biology. There are mysterious origins regarding Domino and there are questions regarding whether she is completely human as Crush has an unusual effect on her.
There are good people, bad people and there are competitors that are bad, but generally only during a race. While more questions than answers are generated in this story, that is an effective design. At the end of this book the reader is left with a powerful craving to flip additional pages and continue the story.
