Review of Instaread Summary of "A Stolen Life A Memo" by Jaycee Dugard

Review of

Instaread Summary of A Stolen Life A Memo by Jaycee Dugard

Five out of five stars

To the extent that a summary of a book describing 18 years of captivity can portray the contents, this one does so. When she was 11 years old, Dugard was abducted while on the way to school by Phillip and Nancy Garrido. She was repeatedly raped by Phillip and she was impregnated twice. Fortunately, Dugard was eventually able to gain her freedom and this book is a summary of her experiences. Those experiences include the aftermath, where Dugard is undergoing therapy as she tries to integrate back into society as well as put her past behind her.
The stories of abductions with lengthy captivities are some of the most bizarre, they are a genuine case of where the truth is indeed stranger than fiction. It is a story of courage, perseverance and the power of motherhood as well as depravity and sickness perpetrated by a man and his wife. This is a great summary of a fascinating book.
