Review of Outlite 180 Lumen Collapsible LED Camping Lantern

Review of

Outlite 180 Lumen Collapsible LED Camping Lantern, Solar USB Rechargeable Camping Light Flashlight with 2 "S" Hook, Portable Water resistant Outdoor Survival Lamp for Hiking Fishing Emergency Outages

Five out of five stars

This lamp has a 1.5 inch by 1.25 inch solar collector on the top and when recessed is an octagonal shaped cylinder approximately 5 inches high and 3 inches across. It is turned on by sliding out the top, exposing the four 2 inch long LED bulbs.
The amount of light is enough to illuminate a tent or a short area of the campsite and it will shine for hours. There is a metal handle for hanging or carrying and there are four ways it can be powered/charged. There is the solar collector on the top, a compartment for 3 AA batteries, a power cord that can be plugged into a standard outlet and a USB port.Recharging via the solar collector is slow, so it is a good idea to keep a supply of batteries on hand.
It is very light, so it will not significantly increase the burden of packing it to a remote campsite. The plastic case is hard, so it will resist trauma, although the solar collector is no doubt more vulnerable.
